Drum Bagging System
Operating Principle

The CRL Drum Bagging System uses CRL's proven Sealed Push-Through technology to enable material to be loaded into a bag-lined drum. The steps in the bagging process are listed below.

Drum Bagger Sequence
  1. The open end of a bag is secured to a plastic support ring with two 'O' rings. The 'O' rings hold the bag on the support ring and provide the seal between the bag and the mounting (enclosure) ring (fixed to the glove box) when the bag is inserted.
  2. The bag ring and a pusher ring are placed on the top of the drum. The bag is pushed into the drum, along with an optional drum liner.
  3. The optional port seal cover is opened and the drum/bag is elevated by the lift cart or insertion tool to insert and seal the bag into the enclosure ring. A previously inserted bag and ring will be pushed into the glove box. The new bag and ring seal to the enclosure ring before the old bag and ring breaks its seal.
  4. An optional funnel is rotated into the bag and ring opening and waste can be placed into the drum.
  5. The funnel is rotated out of position and the port seal cover is closed.
  6. The lift cart is lowered and the bag is sealed and separated using any of a number of techniques.
