Central Research Laboratories' manipulators can be supplied with a variety of handles:
Handles are chosen for operator comfort and efficiency. All handles can be operated with either hand. The ambidextrous type is best suited for light-duty operation; the pistol grip and motion control handles work well for heavier tasks. Handles are not interchangeable on the manipulator without major disassembly.
For rugged-duty manipulators, the pistol grip handle includes a two-speed auto-shift feature which allows the operator to generate large grip forces at the tong.
