Telemanipulator
CRL Telemanipulators extend the dexterous manipulative capabilities of a human operator into a hazardous environment. There are 18 models of Mechanical Telemanipulators to select from, ranging in handling capacity from 10 to 100 pounds (5 to 45 kg). All models are custom manufactured to ensure compatibility with the physical characteristics of the customer's facility. Sealed models which completely isolate the slave end from the operator are available for installation in vacuum chambers or inert atmosphere enclosures.
For remote operation beyond the range of mechanically coupled manipulators, a servo-controlled model is available with force feedback and performance characteristics exceeding those of the mechanically coupled type. The slave of the Servo Manipulator is coupled to the master solely by a two-way communications link which exchanges command and status information with the master and also allows the slave to be computer controlled.
For glove box operations, a Ball Manipulator is available that can mount to the glove box wall or into a CRL Sealed Pass-Through Enclosure System. This manipulator extends the reach from that of a conventional glove and isolates the operator further from the work.
Qualified field service personnel are available to repair, recondition, or modify Telemanipulators at the customer's facility and will train customer personnel in proper maintenance procedures. Detailed specifications for any model, along with an interpretive guide, are available. Specifications cover general design, mounting arrangements, accessories, materials, capacities, deflection, lost motion, and friction.
