Model F-X Telemanipulator

Model F

The Model F-X Telemanipulator is a modification of the Model F manipulator. It features a Z motion indexing arrangement where both telescoping tubes in the slave arm move when the manipulator is electrically indexed in Z motion. The amount of manual Z motion available is reduced as the slave arm is electrically extended; when fully extended, the master arm is almost fully collapsed, and there is very little manual Z motion available. This indexing feature is useful when the operator must perform a great deal of work with the manipulator extended and the handle would otherwise be too low to be comfortable.
