System 50 Telemanipulator

System 50

The System 50 is a sealed manipulator with power assisted grip, capable of handling up to 50 pound (23 kg) loads with a minimum tong squeeze force of 80 pounds (36 kg). The System 50 can be separated into three easily installed and serviceable sections. The System 50 utilizes low-friction ferro-fluidic seals to isolate the cell from the external atmosphere.

Dimensions in inches Typical Formula
A Removal Clearance (entire manip.) 162.58 C + E + 13.3
B Removal Clearance (w/o master) 126.28 E + I + J + 7.0
C Centerline Distance (51.88 min.) 90.00 I + J + K
D Master Collapsed Length 59.28 *
E Slave Collapsed Length 59.28 0.6(Z + F) + 14.88
F Extension 37.00 **
G Master Overhead (18 min.) 18.00 Z - D + 32.94
H Slave Extended Length 133.28 {SQRT[(R*R) + (L*L)]} - 8.25
I Slave Overhang (24 min.) 24.00
J Wall Tube Length (16.5 min.) 36.00
K Master Overhang (30 min.) 30.00
L Operating Height 120.00
M Mounting Height 120.00
R Tong Tip Radius at L 75.04
S Separation (28 min.) 28.00
Z "Z" Motion 37.00 0.625(H) - F - 9.3

If H <114.88 or Z < 62.5, the following formulas apply:

Dimensions in inches Formula
E Slave Collapsed Length 0.5(Z + F) + 21.12
Z "Z" Motion 0.667(H) - F - 14.08

* D is usually equal to E but can be larger or smaller for operator comfort.
** F is usually equal to Z but can be larger or smaller to get the exact reach desired. Their sum determines the slave collapsed length E.
