Pharmaceutical Glove System

Patent Pending

In the Pharmaceutical Industry, more operations are being carried out inside isolation chambers which do not require entry of personnel. However, the requirement remains for maintaining sterile conditions within the isolation chamber. The Central Research Laboratories' Glove System facilitates the performance of work within a sterile enclosure by an operator located outside of the enclosure. The operators can extend their hands and arms through gloves sealed in ports in the barrier wall of the enclosure to perform work. The CRL system differs from conventional glove systems by providing a structure which eliminates cracks and crevices which may harbor microorganisms and shelter them from the effects of sterilization.

Advantages of the CRL Glove System

  • Eliminates the usual cracks and crevices which may harbor microorganisms and shelter them from the effects of sterilization.
  • Provides a convoluted upper arm sleeve assembly which ensures
    • easy access and greater comfort for the operator since it will not collapse on the operator's arm as a result of the positive pressure in the isolator.
    • greater security since the heavy wall construction is less likely to tear or puncture.
  • Incorporates an independent and replaceable hand glove which allows greater dexterity and feel for the operator.
  • Systems are available in 8 inch round, 12 inch round and oval configurations.
  • Material of construction for the hand glove and upper arm sleeve is Hypalon®.

Hypalon® is a registered trademark of Dupont Dow Elastomers.
