Docker/Unloader
for Rapid Transfer Port
The Docker/Unloader for the CRL Rapid Transfer Port (RTP) is a machine for automatically performing the RTP operating sequence. Once a beta container is loaded into the Docker/Unloader, all functions required to mate and open a beta container (insertion, rotation, etc.) are accomplished without further intervention by an operator. Using the Docker/Unloader has the following advantages:
- Automatic operation, reducing the chances for human error
- Ease of use on barrier/isolators where the RTP is in an inconvenient location for manual operation (for example, near the top of the isolator)
- The ability to integrate RTP operation into system controls and data acquisition equipment
