Rapid Transfer Port Interlocks

The CRL Rapid Transfer Port (RTP) features optional mechanical interlocks that prevent improper operation of the port. The interlocks are incorporated into the port handle and prevent the following:

• The alpha door from being opened when a beta flange has not been mated
• The beta flange from being removed from the port when the alpha door is open
• The port handle from being rotated when the alpha door is open.

Use of interlocks is recommended in most cases, as they prevent actions that would compromise the containment and sterility of the barrier/isolator.
